Subject: Clarification regarding consideration of married daughter for appointment on Compassionate Grounds.

Madam,

With reference to your e‑file No. 260579 on the above subject, it is informed that the Office Memorandum No. 14014/02/2012‑Estt. (D) dated 30.05.2013 issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) regarding “Compassionate Appointment” FAQs has been examined.

As per the instructions, the objective of compassionate appointment is to provide employment to a dependent family member of a government servant who dies in service or is retired on medical grounds, thereby leaving the family in financial distress.

The guidelines further clarify that a married daughter may also be considered for compassionate appointment, provided she was wholly dependent on the government servant at the time of death or medical retirement and contributes to the support of other dependent family members.

उपरोक्त विषयक आपकी ई-फाइल सं. 260579 के संदर्भ में अवगत कराना है कि Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) द्वारा जारी कार्यालय ज्ञापन संख्या 14014/02/2012-Estt. (D) दिनांक 30.05.2013 के अंतर्गत “Compassionate Appointment” संबंधी जारी FAQs का परीक्षण किया गया।

निर्देशों के अनुसार compassionate appointment का उद्देश्य ऐसे आश्रित परिवार सदस्य को नियुक्ति प्रदान करना है, जिसके परिवार का सरकारी कर्मचारी का सेवा के दौरान निधन हो गया हो अथवा चिकित्सीय आधार पर सेवानिवृत्त होने के कारण परिवार आर्थिक संकट में आ गया हो।

उक्त दिशानिर्देशों में यह भी स्पष्ट किया गया है कि विवाहित पुत्री को भी compassionate appointment हेतु विचार किया जा सकता है, बशर्ते वह सरकारी कर्मचारी की मृत्यु अथवा चिकित्सीय आधार पर सेवानिवृत्ति के समय पूर्णतः उस पर आश्रित रही हो तथा परिवार के अन्य आश्रित सदस्यों के भरण-पोषण में सहयोग करती हो।
