Cabinet approves release of additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to Pensioners, due from 01.07.2022

PIB Delhi 28.09.022 The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the release of additional instalment of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief @ 4% to Central Government employees and pensioners due from 01.07.2022 based on the percentage increase in 12 monthly average of All India Consumer Price Index for the period ending June, 2022. The Central Government employees and pensioners will become entitled to higher amount of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief respectively, w.e.f. 01.07.2022. The additional financial implications on account of this increase of Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees are estimated at Rs.6,591.36 crore per annum; and Rs.4,394.24 crore in the financial year 2022-23 (i.e. for a period of 8 months from July, 2022 to February, 2023). The additional financial implications on account of this increase of Dearness Relief to pensioners are estimated at Rs.6,261.20 crore per annum; and Rs.4,174.12 crore in the financial yea

Lt. General Anil Chauhan (retd.) appointed next Chief of Defence Staff

  The appointment comes more than nine months after the post fell vacant following the death of General Bipin Rawat. The Government on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, appointed former Eastern Army Commander  Lt. General Anil Chauhan as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). The post has been vacant since the death of the  country’s first CDS Gen. Bipin Rawat  in a helicopter crash in December 2021. “The Government has decided to appoint Lt. Gen. Anil Chauhan (Retired) as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) who shall also function as Secretary to Government of India, Department of Military Affairs with effect from the date of his assumption of charge and until further orders,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement. In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, Lt. Gen. Anil Chauhan had held several command, staff and instrumental appointments and had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir and North-East India, the statement said.  Residents having an   Aadhaar card   which was made more than 10 years back, need to   revalidate   their age, address and other details by uploading supporting documents on the 'myAadhaar' portal or by visiting an   Aadhaar   centre. This order was issued by Gurugram 's deputy commissioner on Wednesday. To begin with, this revalidation exercise has been rolled out in selected 40 districts of the country, including Gurugram . This will gradually be extended to other parts of India in the next few months, officials said. Deputy commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav urged all the residents of Gurugram to update and revalidate their Aadhaar - a verifiable 12-digit identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) - at the earliest. The circular set rates at which hospitals empanelled under the CGHS can charge for patient admissions. There are some 4.1 million beneficiaries registered under CGHS, which caters to serving and retired Central government employees. Around 2,000 hospitals and diagnostic centres are empanelled for CGHS across India. The circular asked hospitals to provide a flat discount of 20 per cent on maximum retail price of medicines, charge only 60 per cent of the MRP in case of implants not included in the CGHS, and pay a 2 per cent bill-processing charge for each patient. “The major problem with this new circular that has come

REFERRAL PROCEDURE TO EMPANELLED HOSPITALS FOR ECHS BENEFICIARIES General 1. All ECHS beneficiaries are provided medical cover through a network of Regional Centres and Polyclinics spread across the country and also Polyclinics located at Nepal. To provide Specialized Medical Cover ECHS beneficiaries are referred to Civil Health Care Organisation which have been empanelled by Regional Centres in their respective Area of Responsibility. The specialized Medical Cover is also provided by Military Hospitals and also by Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital located at Delhi to ECHS beneficiaries on being referred by ECHS Polyclinics. 2. There are ECHS Polyclinics which are located with a Military Hospital and have been nominated as Military Polyclinics. A list of 128 Military Polyclinic is given at  Appx ‘A’  attached. The Military Polyclinics to manage Specialized Medical condition of its beneficiaries are first required to refer them to these affiliated Military Hospitals in case of av
