NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th January, 2026

G.S.R. 23(E).––In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules, namely:-

CHAPTER I

Preliminary

1. Short title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 2026.

(2) Save as otherwise provided, in these rules , –

(a) rules 1 to 30 and rules 33 to 64 and rules 66 to 87 shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

(b) rules 31, 32 and 65 shall be deemed to have been come into force with effect from the 20th day of December, 2021;

G.S.R. 23(E) – Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 2026 की अधिसूचना दिनांक 12 जनवरी, 2026 संलग्न की जाती है, जिसका अवलोकन, मार्गदर्शन एवं अनुपालन किया जाना आवश्यक है।

संविधान के अनुच्छेद 309 के प्रावधान के अंतर्गत प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, राष्ट्रपति निम्नलिखित नियम बनाते हैं:

अध्याय-I

प्रारम्भिक (Preliminary)

1. संक्षिप्त शीर्षक एवं प्रारंभ

(1) इन नियमों को “भारतीय रेल सेवाएँ (पेंशन) नियम, 2026” कहा जाएगा।

(2) जहाँ अन्यथा प्रावधान न किया गया हो, इन नियमों में—

(a) नियम 1 से 30, नियम 33 से 64 तथा नियम 66 से 87 राजपत्र में प्रकाशन की तिथि से प्रभावी होंगे।

(b) नियम 31, 32 और 65 को 20 दिसंबर, 2021 से प्रभावी माना जाएगा।
