Urgent Pension Update – What You Need to do to get 8th CPC- come together build pressure

Hello and welcome. Today, we bring you an important update that concerns over one crore central government employees and pensioners across India. The 8th Pay Commission, which was announced in January 2025, still remains far from operational. This delay has led to growing concern, confusion, and even frustration among pensioners and employees alike. At the forefront of this issue is the Bharat Pensioners Samaj, or BPS — a prominent national organisation that has long advocated for the rights and welfare of pensioners. [Pause] In a formal letter addressed to the Finance Minister and the Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training, BPS has made an urgent appeal to the Government of India. The letter, penned by BPS General Secretary Shri S. C. Maheshwari, outlines three clear demands: First, the Terms of Reference — or ToR — for the 8th Pay Commission must be finalised without further delay. Second, the Government must immediately appoint a Chairman and members to the Commission. And third, the Commission must include representation from pensioners, to ensure that their voice is heard during the decision-making process. [Transition tone – concerned but firm] The organisation has expressed its deep disappointment at the lack of progress since the initial announcement of the Commission. As of now, no Chairman has been appointed, no members have been announced, and no terms of reference have been laid out. This vacuum has led to growing unease among pensioners. And to make matters worse, misinformation and rumours spreading on social media are further compounding the anxiety. As the BPS letter states: “The lack of further progress — notably the non-finalization of the Terms of Reference and the absence of announcements regarding the Chairman and Members of the Commission — has led to growing unease.” And further: “The prolonged delay is fuelling rumours, speculations, and misunderstandings, causing anxiety and uncertainty among government pensioners. Unverified information circulating on various media and social platforms is creating confusion and adversely affecting morale.” [Pause] The BPS is urging the Government to act promptly, transparently, and decisively. Timely implementation of the 8th Pay Commission is not just a policy issue — it is a matter of dignity, trust, and justice for millions of retired and serving government employees. The Bharat Pensioners Samaj remains hopeful. Hopeful that the Government will listen. Hopeful that necessary steps will be taken. And hopeful that the faith of pensioners and employees will not go unheard. Thank you for listening. Let us stay informed, stay united, and continue to advocate for what is right. This is not just a demand for a Commission — it is a call for fairness. Jai Hind.
