Managing Committee Meeting – 28th June 2025
Summary of Key Decisions
BPS, with a legacy of over 70 years, has consistently
upheld the interests of the pensioner community. As a matter of principle, BPS
extends moral and strategic support—without financial or physical
involvement—to all individuals and organizations genuinely working for the
welfare of pensioners.
In alignment with this guiding philosophy, the
Managing Committee reached the following conclusions:
Resolutions:
1.
No Legal or
Street-Level Protest Action for Now:
BPS will refrain from initiating or participating in legal confrontations or
public protests at this stage.
2.
Emphasis on
Digital Mobilization:
Strengthen advocacy efforts through coordinated and impactful campaigns on
social media platforms.
3.
Support for
Ongoing Legal Efforts:
Extend moral and strategic support to the S-30 group's case in the Hon’ble
Supreme Court, if such support becomes necessary.
4.
Clarification
and Public Awareness:
Launch an awareness drive regarding the implications of the validation clause
in the Finance Act 2025 and its effects on pensioners' rights, using digital
media to reach wider audiences.
5.
Strategic
Focus on the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC):
Commence active groundwork for meaningful engagement with the 8th CPC to secure
just pension reforms.
6. Respect for Affiliate Autonomy:
BPS reaffirms its respect for the autonomy of affiliated organizations.
Affiliates are free to act independently based on their local contexts and
collective decisions.
