Sub: Changes in Para 7 of the Draft MoU to be entered into between HCOs and Railways.

In order to extend facilities of OPD consultations & investigations for RELHS beneficiaries aged 75 years & above from specialists of private hospitals empanelled by Railways on a cashless basis as a pilot project for one year from 01.11.2023 to 31.10.2024, a Para 7(iv) had been inserted in the Draft MoU vide Board's letter of even no. dated 20.11.2023.
Now, the pilot project to provide cashless OPD consultations & investigation facilities has been extended to RELHS Beneficiaries aged 70 years and above for next 03 years i.e. from 01.11.2024 to 31.10.2027 vide Board's letter no. 2023/H/28/1/RELHS/Empanelled (CGHS) dated 02.01.2025.
Accordingly, following changes in Para 7 of the Draft MoU issued vide Railway Board's letter dated 20.11.2023 have been made:
Para 7(iv): RELHS beneficiaries aged 70 years and above (having valid UMID cards and not getting FMA) seeking direct OPD consultation (not including issue of medicines) from specialists of Private Hospitals empanelled by Railway, without referral from Railway Hospital/ Health Unit under which beneficiary is registered.
Para 7(iv) (a): This facility will be available for only those aged 70 years & above RELHS beneficiaries (having valid UMID card) who are eligible for OPD consultation at Railway Hospitals/ Health Units. This facility is not available to beneficiaries having UMID card with FMA.
Para 7(iv) (f): The pilot project is extended for 03 years i.e. from 01.11.2024 to 31.10.2027 beyond 31.10.2024.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
