Sub:- Reimbursement of cost of OPD medicines : Special sanction in view of COVID-19.

 

Ref:-(i) Ministry of H&FW’S OM No.Z15025/12/2020/DIR/CGHS 13.01.2022 (copy enclosed).

         (ii) Railway Board’s letter of even number dated-28.03.2020, 29.03.2020,05.05.202011.06.020                 21.09.2020,20.10.2020,01.03.2021,09.06.2021& 01.10.2021.

 

Vide this office letters cited under reference, decision of the competent authority in the matter for mutatis-mutandis adoption of provisions contained in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s OM number Z15025/12/2020/DIR/CGHS dated-10.08.2021 and extension there of up to 31.10.2021 for Railway medical beneficiaries also was conveyed. The implementation of the provision contained in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s OM dated-13.01.2022 has been further extended up to 30.04.2022 (copy enclosed). The Competent Authority in the Ministry of Railway has decided to extend the implementation of the scheme up to 30.04.2022 mutatis-mutandis for Railway medical beneficiaries also.

 

It is also clarified that railway health facilities are functional and railway medical beneficiaries also have the option to collect medicines through railway health facilities as per normal practice instead of purchasing from market.

 

This  issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Railway Board.
