Reaching a Billion Plus

Make Health in India describes the architecture of India’s mixed health system, as it has evolved from the time of Independence to the present day, in a federal political structure. It explores the state of the country’s health through a listing of key health indicators and a commentary on inequalities that exist across states, regions, rural–urban divides and social strata. The book also looks at the challenges that confront different elements of the health system such as finance, workforce, infrastructure, drugs and technologies, information systems, governance and regulation, and community participation.
