3rd National Convention of Rly. Pensioners Associations in Jalpaiguri-A grand success with mamoth gathering
On 29.3. 2012 With the sunrise in the ‘East’, a rhythm rose from New Jalpaiguri . Kanchanjunga with the fragrance of its flowers echoed “Vande Matram”. 1100 delegates representing Rly Pensioners Associations from across the country plus 450 members of NFPRA Guwhati, rose with new spirit & inspiration imbibed by Bharat Pensioners Samaj to struggle for their Rights & Welfare.
Another Voice shrilled across NF Railway Community Hall New Jalpaiguri & thrice filled the atmosphere with high pitched sounds of Pensioners unity JINDA BAD- JINDA BAD- JINDA BAD BPS JINDABAD - JINDABAD - JINDABAD . NFRPA JINDA BAD- JINDA BAD- JINDA BAD.
And then, the ‘Heads’ bowed in prayer seeking peace to the departed Souls.
Thus began the 3rd National Convention of Railway Pensioners Associations with largest ever gathering of the representatives Rly Pensioners Associations.
After facilitation of guests and welcome address by A.M. Roy, President reception committee. Dr. K.R. Gangadharan Vice president South Assia IFA & the ‘Chief Guest’ Speaking on the occasion explained the role of IFA in securing human rights of elderly.
S. C. Maheshwari; Secretary (Railway) BPS presented discussion paper for the day. R.N. Mital president ‘AISCCON’ (All India Senior Citizens Confederation) and K. Srinivasan Zonal Secretary ‘National Federation of Railway Pensioner Palghat’ rose to express solidarity of their organizations in safe guarding welfare & rights of Retired Persons.
Speaker after speaker endorsed the issues raised in the discussion paper, which after day long deliberation when summed up by Shyam Sunder Secy. Genl. BPS, took the shape of 40 resolutions which were adopted unanimously by the house for onward transmission to Govt. of India.
After taking decision to hold, 4rth National Convention of Rly. Pensioners Associations at Nagpur in 2013and vote of thanks. Convention ended with the Singing of National Anthem.
