63rd AGM of Bharat Pensioners Samaj at Visakhapatnam (AP) On 29.11.2018
Over 1300 delegates from every nook and corner of the country, representing pensioners associations of Railways, P&T, Defence Civilians, EPS-95, Central Government civil, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and State Government assembled to express their solidarity. In fact, the number of participants exceeded the limits expected by the host branch and hence there was some inconvenience felt by the participants. Secy Genl on behalf of BPS & the Host branch apologized for the inconvenience caused. Delegates were very cooperative and readily overlooked the shortcomings, maintaining perfect discipline took their seats in the assembly Hall. President BPS was then invited to take his seat on the dais to preside over the proceedings. Chief guest EAS Sarma, IAS (Retd), Guest of Honor S Suryanarayanan, Additional member Rly Bd (Retd) and other invitees were escorted to the dias,
Inaugural session started at 10.00AM with ‘VANDE MATARAM’, by Bimalandu Chakraborty & his team. 2 minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls including soldiers martyred defending the country. Bimalandu Chakraborty anchor of the day’s event then invited C S Rayalu, Chairman reception committee ACPA Vizag, to deliver welcome address. Dignatories on the dais were felicitated. The Chief Guest  and other VIPs addressed the meeting, one-after-another, in English, which became very monotonous. So, the Secretary General intervened with apologetic Hindi. (Speeches of Chief Guest ,Guest of honour and other dignitaries on the dais have already been published in December 2018 issue of ‘Bharat Pensioner’.
6 out of 16 platinum brotherhood new members who happened to be present in the AGM were honoured and 4 out of 6 outstanding Pensioners Associations selected on performance basis for awards present in AGM were awarded Trophies, citations with Rs 5000/- cash.
Secy General S C Maheshwari, then submitted his annual report with replies to the remarks received, Decisions & recommendations of M C meeting held on 28.11.2018 with specific reference to midterm changes in Managing Committee office bearers, nomination of Patrons accounts, resolutions and other proposals including appointment of auditors, all at a time in Hindi and English, in brief, but in  attractive manner which was greeted by  the house granting unanimous approval to all submissions. It was then announced that delegates, who are still desirous to discuss the submissions by SG., should give their names to SRI BIMALENDU CHAKRABORTY, as the after-lunch session would be for the delegates only. House then adjourned for Lunch and reassembled at 14.30 Hrs.,
After-lunch session was really very  interesting. 24 delegates expressed their views on different matters raising some pertinent issues of pensioners, which were answered one-by-one, very explicitly by S C Maheshwari SG to the satisfaction of the delegates  in Hindi to Hindi, and in English to English . From NFRPA, Sri Bindheshwar Prasad from Dibrugarh raised some valid questions, which were also answered satisfactorily  by the Secretary General.
From Secy general report, his reply to remarks on his report, from lively discussion by delegates & interaction by Secy General and the speeches of chief guests, guest of honour & invitees. AGM reached following conclusions: -
1.Resolutions processed during the day will be part of road map and will form broad guide line for the issues to be perused by the Federation, its Affiliates & Associates during the period from 63rd To 64th AGM. Each resolution will be processed separately through representation to government and followed by RTI and personal meetings with officers concerned / Ministers whenever required.
2.Desired results on pensioners issues not being achieved due to lack of consensus on the issues & thereby not speaking in one voice need to be avioded. Federation, therefore, will further strengthen ties with MOU partners & with the assistance of MOU partners, affiliates, Associates and direct members will work to unite pensioners of all disciplines, departments / ministries including Central /state governments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and EPS 95 and will strive to achieve consensus on common issues relating to pension and heath-care.
3. With a think tank in the background, federation will follow a mix of traditional & modern methods using social media platforms such as ,Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Blogs ,websites, yahoo groups, SMS and email etc Federation will  strive to create as large as possible network of Pensioners knowledge, intelligent and experienced minds for the furtherance of its mission.
Sh K C Pipal president BPS summed up the proceedings of the AGM. 
AGM Concluded  with a vote of thanks by the chairman reception committee and singing of National Anthem.
