Yes, if he otherwise fulfils all the other requirements of the Scheme i.e. he is otherwise eligible and fulfils the criteria laid down in this Department’s O.M. dated 16th January, 2013. This would be effective from the date of issue of this FAQ viz. 25th February, 2015 and the cases of compassionate appointment already settled w.r.t. the FAQs dated 30th May, 2013, may not be reopened. Indian Express ·          Thursday, February 26, 2015 Pensions for Elderly Should Be Linked to Real-Value: Rajan PANAJI:   RBI governor Raghuram Rajan Friday said that ideally, pensions for the elderly should not just be inflation-indexed but also indexed for real-value (which adjusts for the effect of inflation). He said this while stressing the need for curbing inflation as it works as a tax against those in their twilight years. Speaking during an ongoing lecture series here, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor also made a case for equity-linked pension while admitting that as India gets richer, pension in the current form does not help preserve the status of an individual like it used to a decade ago. "The government can create a minimal pension, which it has in a number of areas, especially for the very poorly off in society. But going forward we have to develop better methods of savings. VITAL QUESTION APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN RAISED BY THE HONOURABLE BENCH :  HOW ALL THE  CASES IN SUCH A BIG LOT CAN BE SIMILAR? - THE GOVT COUNSELS APPEARED TO HAVE FUMBLED TO ANSWER. THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY SR COUNSEL WITH THEM AS THEY WERE NOT EXPECTING THE BUNCH OF CASES  AT SL NO 206 OF SUPPL. LIST TO COME UP TODAY .  (A FEW OF US HERE FAR AWAY SITTING BEFORE THE COMPUTER AND WATCHING THE PROGRESS (VN & NSR & NAGARAJAN R AT DIFFT PLACES) WERE ASTONISHED AT THE PACE AT WHICH THE CASES WERE BEING DISPOSED AND IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THIS BINCH REALLY CAME UP AT 02 30 PM!)
